FAQs
I base all of my serves on a “dessert” sized piece of cake. This is a piece cut roughly 1” x 2” and roughly 3.5” tall (the height of two layers of cake with filling inbetween). If you’d like to serve your guests a smaller “coffee” serve of cake please consider downsizing or get in touch if you’d like any assistance with cake sizing. When collecting your cake be sure to check the cake cutting and serving guide included when collecting your cake.
I cut all my tall cakes in square cuts, imagine a grid when looking at the cake from above. Please refer to the cake cutting guide included when you collect your cake.
My cakes are all made with buttercream and need to be kept refrigerated prior to serving. I recommend bringing cakes to room temperature for 60-90 min prior to serving them as buttercream is best eaten at room temperature.
Single tier cakes will be handed over in an enclosed box, these are best transported in the footwell of the passenger seat, on a non-slip mat in the boot of the car or on a passenger’s lap if the cake is particularly tall. Be sure to keep the air conditioning on the coolest setting and drive carefully around corners.
For taller tiered cakes I recommend either placing these in the boot of the car, with the back seats down to ensure good cooling from the air conditioning, alternatively I would like to offer my delivery services to ensure your cake arrives at your venue safe and sound.
I only offer delivery on occasion, dependant on my own availability. Delivery is priced at $2/km return from my kitchen in Bateman. If you require delivery, please let me know at the time of your enquiry so that I can confirm my availability.
Unfortunately, I am unable to offer gluten/dairy/nut free/vegan options at this time. My cakes are prepared in a kitchen where the equipment has come into contact with all of these allergens at some point, so I am unable to make products guaranteed to be free from these allergens. If you have any questions about making cakes with specific ingredients, please get in touch and we can discuss the requirements in more detail.
You are able to order a range of pre-designed cakes online as long as there is availability in the calendar. If there is no availability showing, then please contact me using the online form.
For all custom cakes please use the online form on the Custom Cakes and Enquiries page. Please make sure you populate all of the fields so that I’m able to provide you an accurate quote.
I require a minimum of 2 weeks’ notice for all custom orders but the earlier you place your order the more likely you are to secure your preferred date.
I only offer the option to pay a deposit if the total value of the order is greater than $500. For all orders less than this value the full payment must be made at the time of booking.
If you can provide me a theme, colour pallette or style I will happily design a custom cake to suit which will be individual to your event however I do not copy other cake makers designs. I am happy to discuss your requirements and walk you through the design process to come up with something special with my own design elements. My designs are unique to Caked by Ayesha and I would love to offer you a custom cake in my own style.
